Brewing

AeroPress

The AeroPress is a compact brewer that combines immersion with pressure-assisted filtration. Recipes vary substantially, making grind, time and dilution highly flexible.

How it works

Ground coffee and water are combined in the brewing chamber. After a chosen contact time, the user presses a plunger, forcing the brew through a filter.

Why recipes vary

AeroPress recipes can use different grind sizes, water volumes, temperatures, contact times and dilution approaches. There is no single canonical recipe that applies to every coffee.

Practical strengths

The brewer is compact, portable and relatively quick to clean. Its flexibility makes it useful for experimentation and travel.
