Coffee Knowledge is being developed as an encyclopedic, static reference rather than a collection of isolated articles. The roadmap below prioritises depth, accuracy, navigation and useful relationships between coffee concepts.

Origin atlas
Expand from country overviews into regions, growing environments, harvest patterns and careful origin terminology.
Variety library
Add structured profiles for major Arabica, Robusta and interspecific varieties, including parentage and genetic relationships.
Relationship pages
Connect species → genetic groups → varieties → origins → processing methods instead of treating pages as isolated articles.

Quality principles
- Prefer primary, scientific and institutional sources for technical claims.
- Separate documented facts from industry conventions and tasting language.
- Do not turn origin, variety, roast or processing into automatic quality rankings.
- Mark uncertainty where terminology or historical accounts are disputed.
- Keep advertising below the fold and separate from editorial content.
- Build static pages with strong internal linking so the site remains fast, portable and SEO-friendly.
v2.0 completed
The v2.0 reference edition completes the planned first major encyclopedic pass. It adds industry, sustainability, engineering and UK-culture layers while preserving the site’s evidence-minded editorial approach.
Future maintenance
With v2.0 complete, future work should focus on editorial maintenance rather than another large versioned content dump: updating dated market figures, reviewing standards and certification rules, adding well-sourced origin and variety pages, improving search and related-content navigation, and replacing placeholders with properly licensed or original visual material.
